The Quiet Connection
Many travelers focus on vibrant autumn leaves in November. Yet, regions like Kyoto observe Hitaki-sai (The Fire Ceremony)—a quiet, yet fundamental ritual of gratitude.
For Ryoga Concierge, which explores the philosophy of travel, the spirit embedded in this ceremony is profoundly meaningful. It connects directly to the core of our brand: "gratitude for blessings received" and the desire for "purification and spiritual renewal." This aligns with both the cleansing fire of Kyoto and Ise's 1,500-year legacy of sacred fire worship.
■ The Integrity of Countless Flames and Ryoga's Detail
The Integrity of Countless Flames.
During the Hitaki-sai at Fushimi Inari, hundreds of thousands of hitaki-gushi (purification wooden sticks) are simultaneously consumed by multiple sacred fires. The sight of the flames burning calmly and faithfully symbolizes Japan's traditional concept of "Integrity," meaning to approach every task with a sincere heart.
Ryoga’s unwavering dedication to every detail in crafting our clients' journeys stems from this same spirit of sincerity—the promise to tend to every request as faithfully as the flames consuming countless prayers.
■ The Sacred Fire of Ise and the Cycle of Life
From Kyoto's Cleansing Fire to Ise's 1500-Year Sacred Spark.
The spirit of purification in the Hitaki-sai finds a deep parallel in the daily Ōmike-sai (offering of food) ritual at Ise Grand Shrine. This core ritual has been performed twice a day, every day, without fail, for approximately 1,500 years, representing the foundation of Ise's faith.
At Ise, food is prepared using only the purest fire, obtained by friction using a hikirigu (fire-striking tool). The rice used is sacred, purified grain cultivated in the Jingu's own rice fields. After being offered to the Gods, the 'Osagari' (offerings) are consumed by the priests with gratitude.
This 1,500-year cycle of communion with the divine demonstrates the philosophy of "Tokowaka" (being perpetually fresh and pure) and the eternal connection between God, man, and the earth.
Ryoga aims to facilitate a journey of serene restoration, where clients can free their minds from daily chaos and restore their inner energy. We strive to create a space where the fire of Kyoto's purification and the 1,500-year sacred fire of Ise resonate, allowing our clients to feel renewed and ready to walk their life's path again.
■ Ryoga's Promise of Restoration. The Philosophy Sealed by Fire.
Ryoga Concierge's travel plans and every experience offered are infused with the "sincere heart of gratitude" and the "spirit of pure purification" embodied by Fushimi Inari's Hitaki-sai.
Our work is to execute every step with integrity, just as the flame quietly consumes the wood. We believe this is the only way to promise you a genuine journey of enduring value.
